Is there an ideal place to write?

Italo Clavino says:
If one admits that a writer's work can be influenced by the environment in which is it produced, by the elements of the surrounding scenery, then one has to admit that Turin is the ideal city in which to be a writer. [...] It encourages logic, and through logic it opens the way towards madness.
I say:
How do you think the world around you influences your thoughts?

yes, I do believe environment influences how one writes. I think if I wrote in a busy Italian plaza or say a packed Spanish cafe, my writing would reflect that exuberant energy. Similarly, writing in a quiet setting such as at a deserted ranch in the countryside would inspire a different mood to one's writing.
