I think innocence is an undervalued phenomenon in our culture, which often seems to celebrate an all-knowing kind of cynicism. It is sad that innocence as a goal is often abandoned with other insignias of childhood. I think it takes a lot of confidence to retain a willfully innocent gaze.

I say innocence is how we keep our eyes, ears, and hearts open to the new, exciting, and unexplainable in our worlds. I have my degree of jadednes and cynicism, yet keep a space open for an informed naivete and innocence.
