I often think about what the world would be like if there was no daylight, especially when I wake up at about 6pm to catch the sunset! Would we use artificial light everywhere? How important is lighting and shade to our understanding of our environment?

I think it's refreshing to begin with, but the pleasure quickly fades after a while when your palette is consistently dark.
