Messed Up - February 2010

Dear Qatar

February 20th 2010 23:06
Dear Qatar

Sudden realization dawned upon me when I was told I may have to leave Qatar due to sponsorship problem. I realized my unexpressed love for this place where I was almost born and spent my whole life in. I realized how much I will miss it and that not any other place on earth could replace it.
If one asked why I love this desert so much, to them I say, there is no specific reason to like
it. There are no specific malls or beaches or seasides or sand dunes to fall in love with but it is the whole experience living here altogether all the great memories it has to offer. Some may say how can you withstand the scorching heat? To them I say the heat doesn’t bother when one has those awesome Danes or shakes or slushes or ice creams or yoghurt to go with. There is no fun having them in frozen weathers and chilling one’s inside out. One may say you don’t get to experience those wonderful rainy seasons and to him I say, the rainy drizzles here is more mesmerizing because of its perfect timing and duration. It isn’t too long that you start regretting the sticky muddy & smelly ambient or not being able to dry clothes every single day and it isn’t too short that it’s over within a blink. The weather here I say is the better than anywhere else I have ever travelled to.

People travel miles away to get a sun tan or relax in the beach and I am living in the midst of all this. How awesome is that? I am also one of those lucky few getting to observe the development of this great nation through stages step by step all the way and I realized I would never give up anything in life to miss this great experience. The Asian games 2006 or World athletes’ championship 2010 or the birth of education city in 2007 or the creation of the most beautiful Islamic museum in 2008 or the creation of fascinating “Pearl
Qatar” and many more makes this place so happening. The opening ceremony of “Asian games 2006” was unforgettable specially the horse stunt.

Living in Qatar is like living a new exciting life every day. I can go on and on about how exciting this place is but unless you have lived here for a year’s yourself, you will never even come close to understanding what I cherish every day. I cannot end without mentioning one of the most distinctive feature of this place is its freedom and tolerance of whatever religion or culture you are from. Thankfully I didn’t have to leave as I was able to sort out my sponsorship problems but I am glad I had to go through this as it made me realize that even if I live here for a day more, it is worth it. It made me realize that this place has touched my heart and now it is a part of me or the other way round.

Cell phones can kill

February 11th 2010 00:40
"OMG, Can you hold, I can't see a thing..." said Sara on her cell phone, as the car got out of control & turned 90 degrees before it came to a halt.

She could hear the tense voice of her friend over the phone, and was still in shock from what had just happened. A few minutes later, she got out of the car & stared blankly at the injured body lying in jelly of stinky messy blood

Cycle of Life

February 7th 2010 23:58
We all watch young children dying as vicitims of war or natural disaster or terminal illnesses. But none of us fully realize the pain of the above mentioned unnatural forces until one of them happens to one amongst us. In the end, it really raises a question on everyone's mind:will I wake up tomorrow?will I see my kids graduate?will I live long enough to have a family? Will I be alive same time next year? Will I make it to my siblings marriage? There is no law stating with certainty the lifespan of a person. The truth is no one knows the most important aspects of their lives: birth & death (When, where, how etc) in other words the knowledge of beginning & end of one's life save the Almighty God. But are we prepared to face death?
The hereafter freaks me out & not a day goes by without me silently praying for a perfect death: prior knowledge of the event so I can prepare myself (ofcourse there is never satisfying preparation for death but atleast I'll try not to have regrets) & no painful terminal illness but all my sins washed away as though my soul is as innocent & pure as a new born before I breathe my last.(Ameen)

Julie's Day..

February 5th 2010 20:54
Lots of catching up to do with my project about Julie/Julia:
I know I am way behind schedule but this week was hectic but anyway on 15 October,2002 Julie Powell faithfully returns to her blog writing the longest she had so far (taking about pay back.. ). She talks about Pissaladiere Niçoise et Soupe a l’Oignon Gratinee, Bavarois a l’Orange , Salade a la d’Argenson, Pot-au-feu, & Sauce au Cari of which only Sauce au Cari interests me. Well this dish includes almost all the ingredients the average daily Indian subcontinent people consume. She has little trouble with Bavarois a l’Orange, AH well don't we all.....

entertainment afterall!

February 2nd 2010 12:55
What with the obsession these days of regular TV shows showing more & more naked people!
I don't which pervert thinks it increases rating but I have got news for you: Movies without obsenities or naked people have good review too. It is entertaining as well!when comparing desperate housewives & dexter, if I were asked which one I would agree to suggest to seventeen year olds, I would say desperate housewives. Sure the latter has a few kisses but it does not have any nudity!..I hate to say it but you have to admit it:which sane person wants their kids learning anatomy & continuation of species from these?...Sure some may thiink it is important to spice it up but isn't that why we have porns?Grossly, the daily commonly watched episodes is turning porno!!
