Paradigm of Melange - December 2009

I can't stop thinking about the possibilities of the existence of "SHIT" in real world; just like in the movie "accepted". I loved it. Getting accepted with a click away is every human's dream come true. Though the tuition seemed pretty high for trying to enjoy ourselves. Experimenting & perfecting with no guidance seems like the right path to nobel prize for a memorable invention.

Today I discovered with Julie, what a "gizzard" is. Well according to wikepedia it is a specialised stomach found in certain members of animal kingdom. It is rather upsetting that almost all the recipes she has so far tried out has butter in it. I wouldn't call this an art if it meant cooking anything & everything with butter to make it taste better! In this aspect I think even I am a better cook though I hardly know a thing or too about cooking because my stuff tastes superb without any aid to saturated fat that will kill me in my middle ages. I am not saying they aren't good but what I am saying is is it worth it when we know will have a disastrous ending? What I am saying eat good food but something that is healthy & enjoy a happy long satisfied life.
So new year resolution: Never take up or even think about the challenge of trying out "Mastering the art of French cooking" or books alike with in a span of 5 years simply because of the enormous amount of butter used.

being busy!

December 31st 2009 09:38
One always wait for that special moment but when it comes, they are unable to handle it & appreciate it.
For me, I waited for this week my entire life ( well not entire but atleast entire uni interval so far)- a week I'll be so swamped with work & no study that at the end I wouldn't remember my name.
I've been out of school for more years than I choose to calculate at the moment, and mostly I don't think I miss it, but as the end of the semester is nearing, I keep remembering how good it can feel to apply yourself to lesson plan, to follow through in an organized manner.Following through in an organized manner is not something I do much of these days

A peek into the real me

December 21st 2009 17:07
This week it seems I am screwing all my existing relationships. I won't say I am wrong but I guess I don't have a clue about dealing with people. I was acting all bossy & trying to get some work done like the other groups but guess what; I am no fun anymore. And as usual I started ordering around to move their asses but I guess they didn't take it lightly. Man I miss my chem lab partner. We were like made for each other partners where we had fun as well as got our work done way ahead of the rest of the class. My mom says I should learn how to socialise which I hate more than public display of emotions!
Maybe my straightforwardness is also disliked by many but it is the only thing that works as a charm for first impression. When I open out my heart to someone which I often don't, I keep saying rubbish & today though I haven't regreted it yet, I kinda stated out the purpose or responsibilities of being a friend when she was giving me her usual i'll see crap. Though I think we have left it unsolved, we are moving forward as though nothing happened. I wish I was like those people who always seem to say what everyone wants to hear although I usually hate it cause I can read between the lines which usually means sorry but we don't give a damn.

The age old relationship

December 20th 2009 22:33
Someone wise once rightly said " Relationships work out perfect when you have no expectations".
How is it even possible?
I have observed that no matter what kind of relationship is in question be it family or friends or marriages, it is only human to expect something in return. Though in my short 19 years, things (other than relationship ofcourse) such as grades or a recipe turns out more satisfying than not. I wonder if that old wise one meant something like this but in relationships.

poached egg & Creme Brulee

December 20th 2009 13:11
What I have gathered so far from Julie's post is most food taste good because of cream or wine or butter or cheese such as Filets de Poisson Bercy aux Champignons or Potage Parmentier. Good food without butter seems impossible.
Man, how I wish I would have a fast metabolism!sigh!
And here's the kicker: Like Julie, I had never in my nearly twenty years of life eaten poached egg. So next stop, add trying out poached egg in my must do list. Though I haven't yet figured out the difference between egg deep fried in oil which results in hardening of the white & the yolk remaining soft liquid

Living life to the fullest

December 19th 2009 23:08
Eating scanty foods with constant thought of eating less to reduce weight is the best possible way of slowly degenerating braincells which I assume works better than smoking. Is this the way we want to spend our short life on this planet?

Enjoying all those yummy food out there not necessarily living to eat but enjoying it is what I call living life to the fullest ( certainly with the inclusion of exercise to cut down all the fat consumed!!)
How many of us actually accomplish the ideal weight without sacrificing our cravings after reading those boring tips on losing weight with a smile on our face that reaches our eye

Beginning to an end?

December 19th 2009 15:54
Well as promised, I finished reading 2 posts of Julie Powell's blogspot "The Julie/Julia Project" & arrived at the conclusion : Boy those dishes are way harder to pronounce than they are to cook!!
artichoke

The vegetable she used in her first dish:Artichokes seemed an alienated species which I have never seen or heard of in my entire 19 years spent on earth

Noveau Hobby:Julie/Julia

December 19th 2009 10:10
Yesterday I watched the movie "Julie & Julia" & finally came across the original blog of Julie Powell. She wrote about the task of finishing 524 recipes in 365 days.
Quite an interesting blog, I must say.
How is this related to me
